Focuses on indigenous communities and watercraft, shipwrecks and survivor narratives, seaports, maritime landscapes, and colonial commerce with an emphasis on the slave trade and maritime labor systems in areas such as Namibia, Ghana, South Africa, various Caribbean islands, and Central America.
